Since its inception department of medical education successfully launched the information management system, implemented the system based modular curriculum, started faculty development program. The department of medical education also formulated the students’ societies after competitive elections to create opportunities for leadership development, learning, student engagement, and fostering of shared interests. Furthermore DME organized different seminars, symposia and workshops for professional and educational development of the faculty and staff. Moreover, the counseling cell established by DME is actively engaged in responding to psychological needs of the students and the faculty. Other than that the creation of the functional quality assurance cell, the assessment cell and the research cell speaks of the teamwork which is the hallmark of the department of medical education and research.
With the changing trends in Medical Education worldwide, the Department of Medical Education & Research was formally established in July 2017 to review the process of teaching and learning in the institute and to adapt to Modular System Based curriculum. The DME department in WMC is growing strong every day and making great efforts to bring the medical education services in practice.
