Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry at Women Medical College. Biochemistry forms the core of life sciences, allowing us to understand biological processes at cellular and molecular level and provide explanations for the causes and suggest ways to cure many diseases in living organisms. It is broadest of basic sciences, which includes many subspecialties such as neurochemistry, clinical biochemistry, molecular genetics, biochemical pharmacology and immunochemistry. The faculty plays its role in the dissemination and application of knowledge through teaching and research. We teach biochemistry to undergraduate students, pursuing their career in Medicine and Dentistry. Our aim is to equip the students with both theoretical knowledge and the practical skills needed in a scientific research environment. We are proud of all the members of our department and consider them as valuable members of our team.
