a. To get feed back of the students about their understanding of subject material. This purpose is achieved by periodic internal evaluation of each chapter/ topic of course.
b. To certify that the students have successfully completed the training and have achieved objectives of educational programme.
c. To motivate and encourage the students to direct their own learning.
d. To achieve these objective we adopt the following processes.
(i). The students are continuously assessed at the end of a module, term, stage, chapter in the form of class tests, stage and term examination (Mid Term and Sentup Exams). Proper record of marks obtained in internal assessments in theory & practicals are maintained and the scores obtained in these tests, stages etc contribute 10% of the final score of student in the annual/ supplementary University Examination of each subject.
(ii). Whatever may be the system of marking for all examinations throughout medical dental course the passing percentage of marks in each subject is not less than 50% i.e 50% in theory and 50% in practical.
(iii). If a student fails in theory/ practical in any of the examining subject, she will be considered fail in that subject(s). She will reappear in both theory as well as practical in the said subject(s) in her next examination.
(iv). To appear in any professional examination the student must complete 75% of her attendance in each subject as per rules of PM&DC
and Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. No student is eligible for a university examination without having attended 75% of lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, practical and clinical work in lab, inpatient and outpatient. Only those medical leave certificate would be accepted that to be issued by the consultant of Jinnah International Hospital Abbottabad except in extreme emergency. A fine of Rs.200/- per day will be imposed on account of absence from class.
(v) Only two examinations are conducted in an academic session for a professional exam i.e. Annual & Supplementary Examinations as prescribed by PM&DC
and Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. and Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. No extra examination is allowed in the form of special supplementary examination etc.
(vi). The student, who appears in Annual/ Supply examination are provisionally allowed to attend their next higher class till the declaration of results of Annual/ Supply examination of previous class. This is being done to help and provide maximum support and benefit to the students because:
a. The university results of different professional examinations are usually delayed and their precious time is saved.
b. After passing the supplementary examination of previous class the student will not
face any deficiency in the courses of their next class.
c. And they will not face shortage of attendance, which make them ineligible to appear in the next professional examination according to University rules.
(vii). No student can be promoted to next higher class unless she passes all the subjects of previous class.
(viii). The Provisional admission does not make her eligible to appear in two different examinations in one academic session.
(ix). A student, who reappears in her previous class professional examination in annual/supply, is not eligible to appear in new class professional examination in the same academic year.
