Workshop on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) development was conducted on 12/6/24 by Dr Fatima Aman and Dr Maidha Jadoon at WMC. The session commenced with an introduction to the fundamentals of crafting effective MCQs, discussing the common flaws in MCQs, along with the management of common pathologies. Participants engaged in interactive activities, designing their own questions and receiving peer feedback. Expert speakers highlighted common pitfalls and shared strategies for creating questions that accurately assess student understanding. The workshop also covered the use of distractors and the importance of question variety to gauge different cognitive levels. Attendees left with enhanced skills and practical tips to implement in their teaching practices, ensuring more robust and fair assessments. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the hands-on approach and real-world applicability of the content. The honourable managing director Dr Azhar Khan Jadoon appreciated the efforts of team DMER in the end. Dr M Abdullah Qazi HOD DDE distributed the certificates among the participants and ended the event.
