It is one of the section of Women Medical & Dental College, which deals with the academic affairs of the student right from date of their admission till leaving the college as graduates. The section offers the following services to the students and graduates.
Involved in process of admission e.g. issuance and receiving the admission forms/ applications.
Preparing class time tables, allotment of roll number and batches for theory, practical and clinical programmes.
All correspondence with the parents, university and PMC regarding their progress during academic sessions, registration and examination affairs etc.
Keeping all the records of the students e.g. attendance, results, class test, examinations results etc.
Helping the students in their day to day problems, related to migration, examinations, issuance of academic & provincial certificates etc.
LIBRARY
WMDC has got a rich and rapidly expanding library, located within college premises. The Library has an excellent collection of textbooks, general books, reference books and reputed national and international medical and research journals. The students are instructed to observe the following rules:
All the students, on admission, should get library membership cards. If the original card is lost, a duplicate/ triplicate is issued at the cost of Rs.100/- and cost of Rs.200/- respectively.
The members are allowed to borrow two books (Textbooks/ General Books) from Library. No reference books or medical journal is issued to students.
Books are issued for a period of three months after which the books should be returned and can be reissued for another three months. A fine will be imposed if the book(s) is/are kept overdue.
The members shall not mutilate/ damage by writing/ making photocopies of pages of books issued to them. The defaulter will be required to pay the cost of book(s).
The students will be required to submit a clearance certificate in the Student’s Affairs Section prior to her examination/ leaving the college.
Complete silence and order should be maintained in library. Eating, sleeping, gossiping and use of cell phones in library is strictly prohibited.
The following timing will be observed
Summer: 08:00am to 09:30pm
Winter: 08:00am to 07:30pm
All days except Sunday.
Friday: 12:00noon to 03:00pm (Prayer break)
SICK ROOM
A sick room is available within the college premises providing emergency treatment. The serious cases are referred to Jinnah International Hospital, Abbottabad adjacent to college & hostel.
COMPUTER LAB
A well established computer lab is utilized by the students during working hours.
CAFETERIA
To cater the staff and students around the clock we have a standard cafeteria within College premises.
MAIN AUDITORIUM
For all university examinations, cocurricular and recreational activities an auditorium, having a capacity of 0ver 500 people is built within college premises.
HOSTELS
Hostel accommodation is provided to all those who require. Women Medical & Dental College have two hostels, which offer comfortable accommodation. The facilities include shared accommodation in bedrooms, nice sitting rooms and hygienic kitchens with capacious dinning halls and furnished common room for indoor games. A canteen adjacent to hostel. Cold and hot water facilities are provided. The security staff is very vigilant and hostel rules are strictly followed. All the hostels have a precedented security system. Female workers and “Aya” serve the students, clean the rooms and wash their clothes. In order to make the hostels secured vigilant, ex-servicemen are deputed as security guards.
Female wardens are living within the premises of hostel to maintain the discipline and to assist the students.
A provost from amongst the college teaching staff looks after the day-to-day problems of boarders and makes the policies of allotment, food, security, games and recreations for the boarders. Beside he is responsible to provide medical help to the students as and when required. If any student needs specialist advice or hospitalization, the provost is responsible to make all necessary arrangements besides informing the parents at the earliest.
These two hostels are:-
Campus Hostel
This hostel is situated within the premises of Women Medical College adjacent to college auditorium, library and canteen. It faces a lush green lawn and a garden which is a place of enjoyment in the afternoon or evening to relax after the exhaustive studies of the day. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate 700 boarders.
Abbott Hostel
This hostel is situated on Mansehra Road of Abbottabad city. It is hardly 02km from the college campus. Pick and drop facility is readily available. All other facilities are provided as for other above stated hostels.
RULES & REGULATIONS
Student seeking admission to hostel shall apply for a seat on the prescribed form available from the college office.
Seats shall be allotted by the Provost according to the Policy and subject to the availability of seat.
College authorities are NOT bound to provide hostel accommodation to each and every student.
The available accommodation will be given on 1st come 1st served basis.
Special consideration by the hostel committee is provided to a deserving case.
Student seeking admission in the hostel will have to deposit the hostel dues alongwith other dues in advance to the college finance department.
Hostel will remain closed during winter vacation in the months of January and February for Annual maintenance and repair.
No student is allowed to use air conditioner in the room.
Boarders are required to read and strictly follow the rules and regulations of hostel given in details in the hostel booklet.
Boarders will be provided pick and drop facility by the college authorities on paid request only on official holidays to bus stop and hostel.
Room or hostel already allocated to the student can be changed at any time during the tenure of studies.
COCURRICULAR AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
In addition to the academic activities, recreation and co-curricular activities are an essential part of education and are, therefore, given due importance. Besides games and sports, and the various hobbies linked with computer or otherwise, the Institution arranges the following activities on regular basis:

Interclass Qirat
Interclass Sports
Intra country education trips.
Intra District Medical Camping.
Intra District Community Medicine oriented Research activities.
Special arrangements in the evening for extra reading, social and cultural activities have been made as a part of the daily college routine. The college has its own multimedia projector for screening documentaries and entertainment movies. This can project a program from TV/VCR and computer to a 40” x 140” adjustable screen.
